Dr Mike Dolton is the department’s Educational Support Officer. Mike is responsible for co-ordinating student welfare issues and special educational needs in the department. Mike also lectures on the GG1032 Geographical Research and Field Training in addition to teaching through the first year tutorial system.
Mike's PhD was based on an exploration of the potential changes in the participatory relationship between the citizen and the local authority in the UK through Best Value. The thesis was entitled ‘Best value and the requirement to consult: citizen participation in local governance’.
