Felix Driver is Professor of Human Geography at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he was Head of Department until July 2008. He is the Editor of the Journal of Historical Geography.  His current research is concerned with the relationships between geographical knowledge, empire and the culture of exploration; geography and visual culture; and the geography of collections and collecting. He is currently supervising an AHRC research project on Hidden histories of exploration, which will culminate in an exhibition at the RGS-IBG in 2009. He is also co-PI on the AHRC project on Fashioning Diaspora Space, in collaboration with the V&A Museum. Previous work includes a research project on British Visions of the tropical world, and a collaborative arts research project, Visualising Geography.
