Ethnohistory

(Coordinated by Vivanco Pomacanchari and Meddens)

We will consult primary archival sources held in museums and archives, to provide further, independent data sources on Ushnus. We will assess the accuracy of these sources, on which previous models for their function have largely depended, by comparison with the new survey, spatial analysis, archaeological and geoarchaeological data. This approach, employing and integrating multiple independent methods, will generate a new model, significantly enhancing our knowledge and understanding of this key cultural element in the Inca Empire.
