Museum Studies(Coordinated by McEwan)

The British Museum holds one of the most significant, yet largely unstudied, Inca collections outside of Peru. This collection will be contextualised by a combination of archive and object research and related to artefacts recovered from the Ushnu excavations and recorded in existing published collections. The results will be entered on the BM Merlin database, thus making them accessible to the public for the first time, and linked to an interactive project website that will highlight our new findings and also contextualise, explain and represent Inca civilisations in their landscape settings in innovative ways. For instance, Inca views and reading of the landscape will be portrayed and manipulated via GIS-based 3D visual display models.
