The MSc Quaternary Science course is offered jointly by Centre for Quaternary Research (CQR), Department of Geography, Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL) and Environmental Change Research Centre (ECRC), Department of Geography, University College London (UCL), in consortium with staff from Bergen University, The Natural History Museum (London), Queen Mary, University of London, and the NERC Isotopes Facility, NIGL (Keyworth).
This is a one-year, full-time postgraduate course which leads to a NERC-recognised MSc degree in Quaternary Science with the academic emphasis being on time-dependant processes affecting environmental change. It provides the temporal perspective necessary for the understanding of many contemporary environmental issues, such as climate change, lake acidification and soil erosion. The course is designed around a menu of short course units, each of which can also be offered individually for specialist post-graduate training for students not registered for the course.
