I am a Human Geographer interested in Landscape, embodiment and citizenship. My research interests lie at the intersection of landscape geography, social theory and human biology. These interests developed through my doctoral ethnographic research with specialist blind and visually impaired walking groups who visit the Lake District and Peak District in Britain. I am now building on these interests and developing further research on ‘walking for health’, obesity and European ideals of ‘healthy citizenship’. My work addresses three interlocking themes: Bodies and dis/ability; landscape geography and visual-impairment; and citizenship and public health.
