The Department is one of the leading centres for international geographical research in the UK. In the 2008 UK Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) our research environment was recognized as overwhelmingly world class. We were awarded the top grading of 5** in the previous exercise.
Our postgraduate community forms an integral and essential part of the life of the Department of Geography at Royal Holloway, University of London. About a third of our students are postgraduates. The Department has an annual intake of around 60 Master's students spread across four programmes, and there are currently about 80 PhD students undertaking research. Many of our postgraduates are from overseas, and they play a particularly significant role in our work. To find out more, explore the site, or contact our Postgraduate Administrators, Karen Oliver or Liz Hamilton (GeogPGadmin@rhul.ac.uk).
