Undergraduate Prizes 2009

The following have been awarded academic prizes for 2009:

Marjorie Alford Prize in Geography
Awarded to an undergraduate student in recognition of outstanding academic performance

Philip Kirby

G.C. Fisher Prize in Geography
Awarded annually to the student submitting the best final year independent project on a biogeographical, soils, ecology or conservation theme within the British Isles

Jane Reid

Hosgood Prize in Geography
Awarded to a second year student to assist in the provision of equipment for fieldwork

Elizabeth Edney

Shaen Prize in Geography
Awarded to a second year undergraduate for work done in the year of award

Lucy Dolding

D.K. Smee and E.M. Timberlake Prize in Geography
Awarded to the student who has achieved a good academic performance and made a noteworthy contribution to the life of the Department

Lucy Fenner & Kate Foster

Alan Mountjoy Prize
Awarded annually for the best undergraduate or Masters dissertations on the social and economic geography of developing countries

Wang Jing Tai Prize
Awarded for the best research dissertation in Quaternary Science

Gemma Dormer

Russell Prize
Awarded for the best dissertation proposal by a second-year undergraduate student

Stephanie Illsley

Denis Cosgrove Prize
Awarded for the best dissertation in cultural geography at undergraduate level
